~ThornLand Wolf Dogs~ Home

WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE!
Attention and Warning: Other questionable breeders/owners have been claiming to have wolfdogs out of our wonderful breeding program pair of proven lineage hc wolfdogs. Please check with me (Randy) if another breeder/owner tells you that their animals are related to my wolfdogs please. And I can then verify it for you, if it is true or not! I know where every pup-adult I have produced is located. And to hit on another note. When a wolfdog breeder talks badly about another wolfdog breeder or their wolfdogs, it usually is to make their self's and their wolfdogs look better, than the other breeders and their wolfdogs. Great breeders, don't have to talk badly about another breeder of wolfdogs if their wolfdogs are as great as they say they are to you! Thank you very much.
As of right now we will not be having a 2010 litter. Please contact bluemoonwolfster@gmail.com for information on future litters.
Please check out and read our website it's educational and has educational links, a list of educational books and a nutrition page, enrichment for containment information page, ect.

ABOUT OUR MALE/FEMALE ADULT HC wolfdogs.
The males are not fertile in the summer time, and the males testicles become quite small in the summer about peanut size or smaller and, our female/male wolfdogs won't-can't be bred till 3 yrs old and only come in heat once a year.
WE DON'T ALLOW OUR PUPS TO BE BRED! UNLESS YOU QUALIFY AND PAY THE BREEDER PRICE FOR YOUR PUP. YOU CANNOT BREED THE ANIMAL BEFORE 3 YEARS OLD, AND NOT EVERY YEAR AND ONLY WITH A WOLFDOG/WOLF THAT IS THE SAME QUALITY AS OUR ANIMAL.
WE USED A PROVEN METHOD TO RAISE. HAPPY, HEALTHY PUPPIES TO FIT RIGHT INTO YOUR FAMILY UNIT.

A ThornLand HC April 2006 male Wolfdog Kwahadi. He was placed with contract for neutered and lifetime secure home for a purchase price by: Colorado wolf and wildlife Center. Owner: Darlene Kobobel for Ambassador OF Education and the same with his sister Zaltana out of the same litter. The puppies purchased and picked up by the buyers ~ animal care taker ~ personaly by~ Kate from Colorado wolf and wildlife center. Mace Loftus from NV~ introduced me and Darlene Kobobel By phone. The pups were In Texas at our home. Kwahadi and his sister Zaltana they were then picked up, and took to Colorado and were then named and were raised by two pure wolves on a VERY large BEAUTIFUL piece of Colorado land and you can meet them on their educational tours they have yearly. They live a great life. I love my hc wolfdogs to go to places and people that will educate with my pups the public needs as much education as they can get on these animals.

No-low content Max, my buyer Cindy's neutered rescue boy spoiled and very loved, well trained, he is wonderful with, Selene A ThornLand pup soon to be a yr old on April 23rd, 2009. They have a blast together and he teachs her good manners! Her HC Wolfdog Loki not from us is Selene's constant compainon for life, but they do come out with the others dogs to play and dig and jump on their tall platforms. Wolf Dogs like to be up high and most love water!
AND CHECK OUT MY PHOTO ALBUMS OF MY ANIMALS PICTURES. THAT SHOWS HOW WELL KEPT AND HEALTHY AND HAPPY THE WOLFDOGS ARE WITH FULL CARE DAILY. OUR PICTURES "LOOK VERY CLOSELY" shows their very large pens with soft green grass to roll and play in with each other a more natural life, and these animals deserve it. Concret or wire floors and being kept in small kennels is not a life for these animals. It doesn't matter how much you go out socializing these animal if they go back to a small pen with hard floors all night and day sometime, You don't need a wolfdog. When not being socialized they will be sad and lonely, so please if have to crate for a short time, put old towels that smell like you in the crates, Kongs filled with treats and peanut butter. You can buy small and large Kongs at Petco and Petsmart or Walmart sometimes. If you are going to own one of these animals you need to be able to take them and do all kinds of things with them exspecialy vet care, and that takes time and patients. BUT still give them a natural enviorment to come home to! We live in the country far from Malls and other pet friendly educational places we have no dog parks here, we have no need for them with a 15 acre Ranch. So have no true places other than a public park or the town square to publicly socialize our animals. But because we cannot socialize with the public alot, that does NOT make the parents or pups any less trainable and we show picture and video proof of our Wolfdogs very socialized, calm and loving and great temperaments and health. Owners of our pups-adult's no matter what the vacation is planned with fun for family and their wolfdog from us together.

WHICH INCLUDES LARGE SECURE PENS, DAILY ENRICHMENT AND LOTS of PLAY TIME, FULL VET CARE, WORKING WITH AND TRAINING DAILY AND FEEDING QUALITY FOODS ONLY. WE WANT THE PEOPLE THAT COME TO US TO BE MORE THAN JUST HAPPY AND GET WHAT THEY ASK FOR AND NEED !

This website started out to help us to get educated and to tell you about our wolfdogs and share our pictures! Now it serves several purposes, because one, you NEVER stop learning about these animals.
We meet new wonderful people that are new owners to be that have questions or need education or owners that need more education. Or just to contact us for good old conversations and stories about wolfdogs. We hope it has helped. It has taken years to slowly put this website together by reading many books and looking at many EDUCATIONAL websites on HC wolfdogs, calling and asking well trained experts on advice and questions! That own these wonderful special animals and share educational material and pictures. Again to educate our past buyers and people looking for education, so please take the time and check out the pages-links on my site. Thank you and enjoy.

The Above Picture tells A little story about Vinny the hc Thornland wolfdog from Camille his owner. Wanted to share a picture of Vinny. The child is a friend of mine (his grandmother and I are friends). We didn't tell Will's (the three year olds) mother that there was a hc wolfdog that lives out here, because his mom is somewhat afraid of dogs. So we don't tell Will that Vinny is a wolfdog. However, I have pics of wolves all over my house and he knows what a wolf looks like. He also knows how to howl like one, so one day when he was at his grandmother's apt. I told Will that Vinny, Harley and Lakia (the golden retriever) said hi. He then said "Vinny is a wolf." Pat (his grandmother) and I about fell over. No one told him Vinny is a wolf. I told Pat, it must have been Vinny who told him lol. Vinny and Will communicate best through the window since Will is so little he is never on the ground when we are outside. Vinny wants to play with him, but she is way too big for him. Best Wishs, Camille
The terms used to refer to wolfdogs can be confusing. In the past the term wolf hybrid was commonly used. However, the term hybrid refers to the cross of different species, and dogs have been reclassified as Canis lupus familiaris, a sub species of wolves (Canis lupus). Although the term wolf hybrid is commonly used still in the literature, the term wolfdog is now becoming preferred.
ALL OUR WOLFDOGS HAVE A GREAT LINEAGE. AND PRODUCES A ONE OF A KIND PROVEN LITTER, SECOND TO NONE, GREAT TEMPERAMENTS AND HEALTH AND GORGEOUS PUPS and Adult's! WITH EVERYDAY WORKING WITH ONE OF OUR WOLFDOGS AND WITH RESPECT AND LOVE YOU CAN GO AND DO ALL KINDS OF THINGS WITH OUR BABIES TO ADULTS TO BE.
We like to say what a pleasure we have living, working and loving and playing with these beautiful creatures, and would like to go over some things we feel would help you and your family bond with your new pup and adult to be. And having him/her a joy for all. By me helping you make your wolfdog a happy secure home before the pup arrives or you pickup your pup.
1. High Content Wolfdogs do not make good pets, they can make a great companion by planning for the arrival of your new pup way in advances, reading wd educational books " Go to our book link and check out some of the books i recommand", and listen to someone that has owned a Wolf/Wolfdog that has experience with several years of working with these animals of different contents. "Keeping in contact with your breeder is very important."
2. Wolfdogs are very intelligent animals and these animals are definitely not for everyone. Donate a day or more at your nearest wolfdog rescue or sanctuary helping out before buying a wd of any content.
3. They require a large and secure enclosure. One animal 30x30 with daily exercise and two animals 40x40 with daily exercise. Add 10 feet for ever wolfdog added. With a heavy gauge WIRE fencing at least 6 to 8 ft tall and Dig out wire. You need an electrical wire on the bottom inside if no dig out wire down and top of their pen fence. You need to keep them in their large secure pens or in house supervised, when NOT on leash. A wolfdog might run or travel several miles if turned out with no supervision or recall and could get injured or get themselves in to trouble. "NEVER do anything in front of your wolfdog that you do not want him to (copy you) or do or put your wolfdog with a wolfdog or dog that has bad habits that they will pickup. A older, well trained good mannered dog can show your wolfdog pup and adult to be, to follow along and pickup the dogs actions"
4. Remember they are powerful and intelligent Animals. Wolf dogs should not be kept in neighborhood back yards were unsafe fencing meets your neighbors yards.
5. And make sure you check your State and County regulations on having a wolfdog. You are responsible for checking your county laws! We have a State Laws page.
6. A wolfdog pup will bond very close to you, as you will bond to your pup. " It is important to spend a lot of time with your new wolfdog pup and adult EVERY day and lots of socialization and he/she will need a lot of daily attention from the whole family unit." Everyone that will be in the wolfdogs life "home" needs to know how to correct the pup-adult correctly!
7. There is NO words to express the feelings and the emotions these animals put out. ~Beauty beyond WORDS. But that is NOT a reason to own one!
8. Remember a wolfdogs life span is Approx. 12-15 + years. We put a lot of WORK and TIME and MONEY into our WolfDogs. All money for pups get put right back into our animals, but we do not need to breed to take care of our wd's. So we exspect them to have the same care from our buyers. Here are some of things that we feed and do for our Wolfdogs and you will need to do it for your pup and adult and through the whole life of your animal. They will need complete Vet Care, High Quality GOOD MEAT PROTEIN and HIGH FAT" Dog Kibble - NO SOY-NO GRAINS or very LOW GRAINS and QUALITY RAW MEATS with the FAT. PLEASE Check out our NUTRITION PAGE, and our ENRICHMENT PAGE! They need to be leashed daily, exercised daily, played with daily, socialized daily and any chance you and your wolfdog gets to introduced him/her to everything possible you can think of. If you have a pet friendly place you can go to, take the pup everywhere they are allowed exspecialy the first year or two of their life's. Very important socialization: attention pet friendly only! People, Places, Stores, Parks, Home Depot, PetSmart, Petco, Dog friendly Malls, Doggie Parks. Take them swimming if you can they love water or at least mine do rivers, lakes and pools. Take them over to a friends house if they will allow you to and socialize the pup with they're kids and dogs. Make sure your pup is up to date on all vaccinations that are a concern or required in you're State and County.
ALWAYS end the day on a good note with you wolfdog companion!
ALL our Wolfdogs are Bred for TEMPERAMENT AND HEALTH FIRST and then BEAUTY. All adults and pups are Health certified by a Vet, full body check, bones, lungs, mouth, teeth, tummy, fecal, heart, ect. "I PERSONALY check all our puppies personalities, temperaments so each puppy goes to the right buyer" myself. We would not breed if we did not breed for these things and more. All animals have proven lineages. All animals are free of Genetic Defects. Any breeding is done VERY limitedly, on reserve.

AT THIS TIME THORNLAND WOLFDOGS HAS DECIDED NOT TO BREED MAYBE IN YEARS TO COME OR NEVER!
"ATTENTION: References on request"

FOR LIFE OF ANIMAL.
We'd pull our pups and start bottle feeding at a very young age. You could get pups no younger then 4 to 5 weeks of age for beginner WD people. Remember if you are properly prepared and educate yourself then you will enjoy your new wolfdog as much as we do our's. They are very special to us. Our adults and our puppies. "Remember it is VERY important to keep communication lines open with your breeder and supply pictures and updates "ThornLand" has figured out people say things to us, but does NOT follow threw on verble agreement's so contracts are nessary for the sake of our puppies and THORNLAND adult's! And your pictures and update's help us to know what our pups and adult's are like." Through out the life of your wolfdog from ThornLand.
"If you have a problem or a question please do call us anytime day or night.'' 24/7 a day.
If we do not get back to you when you email us, please do call us, if we do not answer please leave a message with your name and phone #, and we will return your phone call as soon as possible! Thank you.
We have large secure pens 2 - 1 acre large pens and 1 half acre large pen. We never leave our wolfdogs in kennels. Our wolfdogs are our companion animals not just for breeding. WE LOVE THEM VERY MUCH.
"Remember NEVER leave a child alone with any kind of large canine! NEVER keep your wolfdog on a chain unless it is a emergency for only a VERY short periods! NEVER use rope to tie your wolf dog up for the short periods, they will chew right threw it in a matter of seconds! And for all wolfdog pups or adults they are to be returned to Thornland WolfDogs if you decide during your ownership that you cannot keep the animal or if it is to be rehomed with someone new that THORNLAND gets first choice on the new home.
THE HIGH CONTENT WOLF DOG.
The eyes glow in the dark, there is a light-reflecting layer called the tapetum lucidumthat may facilitate night vision. A carnivore's eyes are also usually extremely sensitive to movement, while color perception and visual sensitive to movements, while color perception and visual acuity may be inferior to man's. The use-conscious or unconsciousof the eyes in social contexts, however is virtually identical in man and wolf. Changes in pupil size in both man and wolf correlate with changes in emotion and pleasure, pain, fear, anger. Both wolf and man have eyes set in the front of the face, a mark of the hunter who searches and penetrates his visual field for prey!
""From: The soul of a wolf. Both parts!""Top and bottom! And some words added by us!
The more submissive, dependent, or frearful a wolf or human being make more eye contact then does one who is more self assure and of high status. A direct stare is a threat but looking down and away is a submissive or friendly signal and awild gaze is associated with playful intentions. The wolf dog is the original dog and most resembles the Eskimo, husky, malamute and german shepard. Still the wolfdiffers from them in build by being narrow, leaner, streamlined. They're movements seem effortless, the body from neck to hip appears to float over the spindly legs. The chest is narrow and the legs are slender to plow threw the snow, the slanted eyes are colored either amber, gold, orange, green or yellow. The toe nails are cold black and strong, the pads of the feet are cold black also. The nose is long and strong and always black, never pink. Theyre coats have a softundercoating like wool, beautiful and soft and then they have the black guard hairs that shed away water and snow. No two wolves are alike, the colors of wolves vary from tawny brown, grey, black, white and creamish red to grizzled. Snow does not melt on a wolf or HC wolf dog. The ears are small and pointed and well furred. HC wolfdogs have 42 teeth which can produce pressure up to1500 lbs. per square inch. A wolf dog can run as fast as 45 mph. Wolf dogs communicate with sounds and body movements called body posturing, they also communicate with smells. The most beautiful thing a wolf dog does is howl, it can be heard up to 10 miles away.
We Have one HC wolfdog Egypt that howls before she will eat like she is saying thank you for this food! HC Wolf dog howl during the day and night.
